Michael Stumperth, age 82, of Salem, died at 5:00 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2016 at his home. He was born January 19, 1934 in Salem, Ohio, the son of the late Michael and Mary (Paulini) Stumperth.
He was a 1951 graduate of Salem High School. He was co-owner of Alliance Commercial Printing, worked for the Alliance Review, and was last employed with Jarman Printing.
Michael belonged to Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Salem Saxon Branch 19, and Salem Saxon Retirees. Past Exalted Ruler Salem Elks #305, Past Master Perry Lodge Salem Masonic Temple, Past High Priest Salem Chapter, Past Illustrious Master Omega Council, Past Commander Salem Commandary #42, and was a member of the Knights of the York Cross of Honor. He enjoyed golf, bowling, and airplanes.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Nancy (Heidenreich) Stumperth, whom he married July 14, 1956. Two daughters, Amy (Robert) Schenkel of Ross, and Wendy (James) Taylor of Beloit; a son, Martin (Becky) Stumperth of Canton; grandchildren, Conner and Ashley Stumperth, Beth Jackson, Katy Schenkel, and Derrick Taylor; three great grandchildren; and sister, Linda (Leon) Faught of Buckeye Arizona.
