Michael Raymond Hopkins, 79, passed early on February 22, 2019, at Rockledge Memorial Hospital.  He was born April 21, 1939, in Baltimore, Maryland, the son of Bernard and Lillian Russell Hopkins.
Mr. Hopkins graduated from Johns Hopkins University.  Following graduation, he served with the U.S. Marine Corps as a Naval Aviator Captain.  He later married Maureen Riordan, started a family and moved to Miami, Florida where he worked as a commercial airline pilot for Pan-American and Delta Airlines.  Mr. Hopkins enjoyed coaching youth sports, swimming and working out in his spare time.  After Hurricane Andrew destroyed their home in Miami, they moved to Cocoa, Florida.  Mr. and Mrs. Hopkins celebrated 50 years of marriage in February.  Mr.
Surviving in addition to his wife Maureen Hopkins (Riordan), are his son Michael John and his wife Kim  of Cocoa, son Daniel Joseph and his girlfriend Pam of Mt. Dora; grandchildren, Michael Thomas, Shane, Jack and Lachlyn Hopkins, and many close friends.
