Michael Ray Nevins, 62, of Middletown, went to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ, following an extended illness, on December 19, 2012 at Saint John’s.

He was born on January 4, 1950 in Brazil, IN, and resided most of his life in Anderson. Michael served his country in the 1st Recon Special Forces Marines in Vietnam. He retired from GM. He was a member of East Side Church of God. He served the Lord in missions in New York City and the Dominican Republic. He was a strong Christian and witnessed to everyone that he met. He was the patriarch of his family and will be missed by all. He was also a green belt in Tae Kwon Do, aka “Tank” at Strength Martial Arts. Michael is survived by his loving spouse of 28 years, Paula Mitchell Nevins, children, Brian Lisa Nevins, B.J. Cherith Carpenter and Jenny Doug Brannies, grandchildren, Grace Nevins, Brianna Nevins, Caleb Brannies, Sage Carpenter and two on the way; siblings, Richard Nevins, Jessica Swayze, Suellen McClellan, Petie Green, Tony Nevins, Chris Nevins and Penny Heid.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Nevins and Mary E. Morris Nevins and brother, Duncan Nevins.
