Mike Williams was a good man. A titan in this world. He’s lived an incredibly adventurous, generous and vivacious life where his main objectives were to provide, create and explore. He had a thirst to see and be part of the world around him. Mike loved to see and give joy to others, making every occasion special.

His family remembers him as the adventurer, hard worker, stoic man who taught them how to achieve whatever they put their minds to. His children have all achieved their own successes in their lives because of his example. But most importantly, we’ve all learned how to live life to its fullest from him. Mike has said that he always wanted to reach death worn and torn from all his adventures and hard work. He certainly achieved that.

His company, SignArt, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. Mike earned many accolades but receiving the Red Rose Award in 2012 from the Kalamazoo Rotary Club was a big one. His philanthropic work from Mexico, to Alaska, to Belize, to Haiti has provided so much aid to so many. But most importantly, his family have been his main love.

Mike was born on Nunivak Island, Alaska on June 19, 1945, to missionary parents Donald and Elizabeth (Nelson) Williams. He leaves behind his loving wife, Susan (Hellenga), who was by his side throughout his journey. He also leaves behind his children Laura (Dave Joynt), Christy (Jeff Rebrovich), and Scott (Tricia Barry); grandchildren, Matthew and Taylor Williams; step-son Nick Schroen (Darrin) as well as many siblings, cousins, nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Katherine and his sister, Evelyn.
