Michael P. “Mick” McCloughan, 58, of Elkhart, passed away Thursday, Nov. 28, 2013, at Valley View Health Care Center following a two-year battle with brain cancer.
He was born Jan. 26, 1955, in Elkhart to Robert R. and Maxine M. (Hoadley) McCloughan.
Surviving are his mother, Maxine M. Personett of Elkhart; father and stepmother Robert R. (Rosemary) McCloughan of Elkhart; sister Marianne (Pat) Stemm of Nashville, Tenn., and children Josh (Krystal) Dale and Chad Dale; and sister Marcy K. (John) Harrison of Bristol and children Zach (Ashlee) Harrison and A.J. (Kaylee) Harrison. Also surviving are three great-nephews and four great-nieces.
Mick, as friends knew him, was a 1972 graduate of Elkhart High School. His early work efforts involved fire suppression sprinkler systems in commercial structures. He entered the RV industry and worked for a number of companies in various capacities. Mick’s passion was music, especially ’60s and ’70s rock. He did sound and set-up work with several local bands during that time, one being the Source. He also enjoyed reading about American history and World War II, concentrating on the 8th Air Force European Campaign.
