Our beloved father, son, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend, Michael Joe Navarro, was called upon by our Lord on Friday, Jan. 21, 2011. Mike was a lifelong resident of Oxnard, born on May 1, 1947 in Oxnard, and died at the age of 63 years old in Ventura.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Guadalupe “Lupe” Navarro; son, Michael Navarro, Jr.; and baby daughter, Maria Navarro.
Surviving Mike are his loving parents, Ruben and Eva Navarro; four daughters, Christine (Joe) Soto, Evelyn Navarro (Louie Moreno), Michelle Navarro and Janelle Navarro (Alex Ambriz); two sons, Albert and Joel (Siobhan) Navarro.
Also surviving are 19 grandchildren, Matthew and Nathan Navarro, Amber, Eric, Andrew and Michael Navarro, Joseph and Jocelin Soto, Sophia, Isaiah and Brihanna Moreno, Esteban and Johan Tapia, Daisy and Julie Navarro, James, Samuel, Miranda, and Madisyn Ambriz; great-grandsons, Matthew Michael Navarro and his baby brother due in May 2011.
Mike is also survived by five sisters, Lulu (Larry) Cobos, Virginia (Hector) Lopez, Barbara (Angel) Vargas, Irma Navarro, Irene Navarro (Danny Salinas); and by his “brother,” Dickie Almanza, who spent countless hours with his compadre Mike. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Carmen Juarez, and many extended family members throughout Ventura County, such as the Navarro, Martinez and Juarez families.
