Michael J. “Mike” Serafino, 64, of Elkhart, passed away after his fierce and courageous battle with cancer on Friday, May 21, 2021 where he was surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born on November 13, 1956 in Elkhart, IN to the late Joseph C. Serafino and Lila L. (Patanelli) Serafino, who survives him.
Mike is also survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Theresa Serafino; son, John (Haley Hoerle) Serafino; daughter, Liza (Lucas Franz) Serafino; sisters, Cynthia Amos, Claudia (Bob) Mornar; and sister-in-law, Elizabeth (Chuck) Hartzell; great aunt, Dolores Patanelli; nieces, Rachael (Larry) Hooley and Hannah Hartzell; nephew, Cullen (Danelle) Nance; and a host of cousins.
Mike deeply loved his family and was especially proud of his children’s accomplishments. He was an avid collector, sports fan (Go Sox!), and all-around handyman throughout his life, which also included 27 years of service with the U.S. Post Office. Mike loved playing softball with his friends and was a natural golfer.
