Michael “Mike” Brennan Bishop, 36 of Woostock, Il, passed away suddenly on Friday, October 7, 2011 at Northern Illinois Medical Center in McHenry. He was born in Evesham Twp., NJ to Nelson and Sharon (Brennan) Bishop. Michael spent his childhood in Southern NJ and later in the greater Philadelphia area before going on to attend the Culinary Institure of America in Hyde Park, NY, where he received his degree in culinary arts in 1995.
Michael spent many years using his culinary talents, from line cook to Executive Chef, in various restaurants, including his own AJ Michaels, before moving to a career in sales. Michael moved in Illinois and married Ginnette Lawrence of Crystal Lake, Il on October 9, 1996. For more than the past five years, Michael had worked for AT&T, finding great pleasure in assiting all his customers and associates. He loved to camp and was an Assistant Scout Master for his sons’ Boy Scout troop.
Michael loved sports of all kinds especially hockey, baseball, football. soccer, and wrestling. With his sons’, he would discuss all of the local sports teams as well his beloved Philly teams. Michael was dedicated to his children, making sure not only to attend their sports games as well as their band and choral events, but also attend several professional game each year with them. Whenvever Mike came East to visit his family, he would always love to go shopping , especially to the sports store to find himself and each of his children the latest Phillies, Flyers or Eagles team sports jerseys.
The better the sales, the more he could buy. He enjoyed catching a game on the big screen with his friends from work and looked forward to winning this year in his fantasy football league. Michael apprectated time with his family and friends in Illinois, but he always missed his family back home on the east coast. Michael is survived by his wife, Ginnette of Woodstock; his daughter Alexandretta (Lexie)7; and his sons; Logan, 14, Gavin, 12, Jeremy, 9 of Woodstock; his father Nelson Bishop of West Chester, PA; his mother Sharon (Joe) Blackeby of Burlington, NJ,; his two sisters Kelly (Donald) Schutt of Cameron, NC and Ashley (Robbie Baynard) Biship of West Chester, PA; his grandmother Florence Brennan of Sewell, NJ; and his nephews, Steven Schutt and Riley Baynard. He was predeceased by his grandparents; Donald and Sarah Bishop; his grandfather Joseph Brennan and his stepmother Dorothy “Dottie” (Eichman) Bishop.
