Beloved father, son, and brother Michael Shane Mallory, born August 17, 1974 raised in Taft and most recently a resident of Arroyo Grande died, Thursday, October 15, 2015 at his home at the age of 41.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Clifford and Doris Mallory and Grandfather Roy E. Garratt. He is survived by his children Gary, Parker, Jenessa, and Gavin; mother Carol Mallory and spouse Mike Mayfield, father Mark Mallory and spouse Cindy; brother and sisters Michelle Mallory, Mellissa Cross-Wade and spouse Terry Wade, Angela Cross-Rinnert and spouse Matt Rinnert, Randy Cross, June Mallory, Delane Morin-Mallory, and Ramona Mallory; his children’s mother Lori; grandmother Fern Garratt, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, as well as dear friends.
Mike was a distinguished California Highway Patrol Officer for more than 15 years and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology from the California State University, Bakersfield. As a young man, Mike was an amazing athlete who excelled in football and swimming and enjoyed extreme sports such as skateboarding. As an adult, his dedication to fitness continued and he enjoyed surfing and biking. In addition to sports and fitness, Mike loved music and was a gifted musician with the ability to play drums, guitar, cello and had a wonderful singing voice. Mike was benevolent, generous, and kind with extraordinary intelligence and gifts.
