C. Michael “Mike” Lovvorn
On April 19, 2013, Mike Lovvorn went home to be with the Lord at age 64. Preceding him in death was his beloved wife of 39 years 6 months and 8 days, Jean Armstrong Lovvorn. He leaves behind two devoted daughters Tanya (Robert) Sloane and Christie Lovvorn, a faithful mother Marie Lovvorn, loving siblings Lillie Smith and Kerry (Kay) Lovvorn and one precious granddaughter Mackenzie P. Sloane.
Many other friends and relatives will miss his beautiful smile, quick wit, and compassionate heart including special friends: Francine and Vincent Larry, Traci Miller, Steve Sweatt, Lisa Vallely, Andrea Vines, and Clem and Tammy Weaver. Mike’s family would like to extend special gratitude to Walter R. (Ray) Ross, Jr., M.D. for his kindness, compassion, and wisdom.
Mike never met a stranger, even when he traveled as far away as Turkey, and for years he enjoyed teaching the Bible to children and youth. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, a caring son and brother, and a loving father. We express our gratitude to our Heavenly Father for Dad’s life, his love, and his example of Christian devotion.
