Michael Lee West, Sr., age 67, was born on September 22, 1948, in Duluth, GA, and died on September 10, 2016 at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center. Mike was a native of Atlanta, GA and a resided in Semmes, AL for 43 years.
At an early age he was blessed with “The gift of Gab” that enabled him to become a very successful salesman and provider for his family. He never met a stranger and was always inviting someone into his home to feed them. His heart was made of gold.
Mr. West is preceded in death by his parents; Obie and Loyce Pugh, father-in-law; Buford Carpenter and brother-in-law; Rayford Bennett. He leaves to cherish his memories, a wife of 46 years; Brenda West, two loving sons; Michael (Debbie) West, Jr., and Craig West, a very devoted sister; Janice Bennett, sister-in-law; Jewel Carpenter, and brother-in-laws; Eddie (Diane) Carpenter, and Tommy Carpenter. He will be missed by many but his grandchildren were the light of his life. He will live on in the hearts of Tiffany West, Chase West, Lane West, Camden West, Terra West, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of Diagnostic & Medical Clinic and Mobile Infirmary Medical Center. A special appreciation to Dr. Martin Lester and staff, also Dr. Maher Sahawneh and his staff.
