Lance McLeod, 32, born October 19, 1989 passed into glory on March 31, 2022.
Lance was born and raised in Roswell, NM. He was a member of First Baptist Church since birth and was saved and baptized there on April 21, 2000. He attended Military Heights Elementary School, where he was surrounded by wonderful friends, teachers, coaches, and principals. He graduated from Goddard High School in 2008 and attended Texas Tech University where he graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance. His professional career included positions at Gannaway & Associates and Cooper & Amador Accounting firms.
Growing up in Roswell Lance was always playing sports including baseball, soccer, basketball and football. He played soccer for Coach Lucas starting at 4 years old. Baseball was always his favorite sport. He began playing baseball in 1st grade with his best friend Justin Cooper and they continued to play together every year on the same team until they were seniors at Goddard. Lance was a member of the Noon Optimist team that won state in 2002. Later in life his hobbies included golf, camping and fishing with his Dad and friends. He enjoyed being outdoors and loved animals and nature. Lance was an avid Texas Tech sports fan and enjoyed cheering on his Red Raiders. His favorite days were spent with family in Ruidoso playing games, working on puzzles, and playing “Bear Tag” with Audrey and Connor. They learned many things from their “Unk” and will miss him dearly.
Those left to treasure his memory are his parents Mike and Pam McLeod, his sister and brother-in-law Megan and Nathan Brandt and his niece and nephew Audrey and Connor Brandt, they were the light and joy of his life. His grandmother Jerry McLeod, many aunts and uncles in Texas, cousins from several states, including special cousin Jennifer Hanes and her family in Virginia. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Wilfred McLeod, John and June Ford.
He was blessed with many friendships and as the years passed, he stayed in contact with them. He spent many fun days and shared special memories with a group of childhood and college friends known as “The Brethren”.
