Michael K. McArdle, age 61 of Norwalk, died peacefully Saturday, November 26, 2011 at Norwalk Hospital. Born in the Bronx, NYC, the son of the late Mary and Kenneth McArdle, Michael lived with his sister Maureen and brother-in law Bob and their family in Danbury from 1974 till 1989. Upon Maureen’s passing Michael became a DATAHR/ Ability Beyond Disability resident and lived happily under their care till 2000, when he moved to Norwalk. For the past eleven years Michael has been blessed with the love and care of his extended family of STAR and the companionship of his fellow residents and staff of Ryan House and the Norwalk Senior Center. In addition to eating, his first love, and family parties, Mikey also enjoyed his matchbox cars, music, especially the “oldies” and his afternoon cup of tea. He will always be remembered for his calm, cheerful personality and for his unique trait of nicknaming his loved ones, all of whom will miss him dearly. Michael is survived by his sister Lillian McArdle of Poughkeepsie, NY as well as his brother-in-law Robert Gonya and his wife Gail of Norwalk, and his 2 nieces and a nephew; Susan, Debra and Christopher.
