Michael Joseph Delligatti, (79) of Grafton, passed away on Thursday (June 6, 2019) after many years of declining health. He was born on Christmas Eve 1939, a son of the late Anthony “Cotton” and Mary (Zinn) Delligatti. Born and raised on Spring Street in Fairmont, WV he was very proud of his family, and where he was from.  Michael is survived by his wife of 29 years, Martha Henderson Delligatti, his son Michael J. Delligatti II (Emily) of Grafton, and daughter Kara Linn Williams (Doug) of Fairmont. Also surviving are grandchildren, Darcy and Maggie Delligatti of Grafton, and Noah Casto of St. Mary’s, WV. He is also survived by two sisters, Betsy Rutherford (Carl) of Logan, Ohio, and Rebecca Delligatti Williams of Fairmont; two sister’s in-law, Linda Delligatti of Fairmont, and Athalene Delligatti of Ohio; and the mother of his son Becky Conrad Hamilton. Michael is survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. After Michael lost his brother Skip who he was extremely close to, his nephew Mark (Skip’s son) made sure his uncle Mike had someone to talk to.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Anthony “Skip” Delligatti, Bobby Delligatti, Bill Delligatti; and his sister Toni Wood (and her husband Bud).

Michael was a veteran serving in the Navy; he was also a Merchant Seaman and traveled around the world on a super-tanker in the 1980s. He loved to hunt and fish, and spending time at his camp near Cabins, WV.  He will also be sorely missed by his three Boston terriers that he loved so much. Michael made friends easily, whether it was from his childhood, his time as an electrician, or foreman at M.R.S. Inc., or Fourco Glass, or the years he owned the White Front. Michael was a believer in Christ and an active member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Grafton, and the Knights of Columbus Marion Council 942.
