Mystic- Michael Joseph Benoit, Sr., 57, of Alden St, beloved husband of Patricia (Britt) Benoit, died Saturday afternoon at Crossings East Healthcare in New London. Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on February 25, 1959, he was the son of the late Edward and Betty (Corino) Benoit, Sr.
Mr. Benoit worked for many years as a machine operator at the former Decorative Screen Printers in Norwich. Michael enjoyed fishing and walking but, above all he was cherished by his family as a true “family man”.
Surviving is his wife Patricia Benoit, a son Michael J. Benoit, Jr. and his companion Emily Greenan of Mystic; a daughter Melissa Torrez and her husband Daniel of Fairfield, CA; four brothers Eddie Benoit, Darrel Benoit, Lenny Benoit, and Anthony Benoit; two sisters Amy Benoit and Susan Benoit; seven grandchildren Kyle Relliford, Kianna Relliford, Tea Torrez, India Torrez, Tyonni Hernandez, Keryn Benoit, and Liam Benoit. He was predeceased by a brother Kenny Benoit and two sisters Yvonne Benoit and Sharon Benoit.
