Michael J. Rupert, 58, of Galesburg, died at 12:20 p.m. Thursday, December 6, 2012, at home. Mike was born February 24, 1954, in Galesburg, the son of Paul and Anna (Tate) Rupert.
He married Linda Rupp on April 1, 1984. Mike is survived by his wife, Linda of Galesburg; three sons, Nicholas of Branson, MO, Christopher and Matthew both of Galesburg; four daughters, Mitzi Rupert of Springfield, MO, Kristy Rupert, Kari Rupert, and Karen Rupert all of Galesburg; and eight grandchildren whom he loved dearly, Jay Jay, Dayton, Mya, Chance, Justin, Antwone, Ashton, and Emma.
He is also survived by a brother, Richard (Beverly) Rupert of Rock Island; and two sisters, Paula (Tony) Swanson of Galesburg, and Roseanne Rupert. Mike was a self-employed carpenter working in the Galesburg area for many years. Mike’s hobbies included fishing, hunting, and working on cars. Mike was known to have a slight addiction to drinking pop.
