He was born September 3, 1949 to Joe and Naomi Ruth (Packard) McDonald in Los Angeles, California. He graduated from Jefferson Township High School in 1967, and received a BS degree in accounting from Ball State University in 1971. Mike married Carol J. Warren on June 5, 1971 and started his first job with Kittel’s Furniture in Indianapolis in August 1971 as Controller. He has worked for Mid-America Equipment Retailers Association for the last 16 years as Accounting Manager. Mike was a Volunteer Fireman for Upland for 15 years, and the first EMT for Medic 8 when it first started through Jones Funeral Home.
He was a sponsor and coach for Little League baseball in Upland for a few years. He loved helping people and had many stories to tell anytime people would listen. He was a member of Lions Club and Masonic Lodge while living in Upland. Mike loved his family and was very proud to be a father and loving husband. He was always helping someone with an accounting or computer problem. Mike had many friends and associates that loved and depended on him for help. Mike loved to watch his wife with the Smile Seeker Clowns.
Mike is survived by his wife, Carol, and sons David (Becky) McDonald, Marion and Ryan McDonald (fiance: Teri), Wabash. He is also survived by step grandchildren, Kristen, Tony and Alex, and step great granddaughter, Cymia.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, Joe, maternal grandparents Marshall and Mary (Craig) Plackard, his mother-in-law, Virginia Warren, and step great grandson, Kyrin.
