Michael Henning, age 84 of Wheatfield, IN. passed away on January 17, 2014 at his home.
Michael was born on October 16, 1929 in Gary, IN. to Michael & Loretta (Sonnenberg) Henning -Tetzloff, both deceased. Michael served his country proudly in the Korean Conflict. Michael attended Lou Wallace High School in Gary, IN. Michael was married on April 24, 1954 in Gary, IN. to Janice Marquita Goodwin.
She preceded him in death in 2010. Michael was employed with U.S. Steel, Gary, IN as a Mechanical Engineer. Michael was a member of the American Legion Post #440 and the Good Fellow Club with U.S. Steel. He was an avid golfer and member of the Sandy Pines Golf Club. Michael also enjoyed playing on Katz Kittens softball team.
Michael is survived by one daughter – Janice (Joseph) Roebuck of North Judson. Four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Michael was preceded in death by one daughter – Marilyn (Henning) Franciscy, one brother – Herman Henning and one sister – Rose (Henning) Rummell both of Gary, IN.
