Michael J. Finn Michael J. Finn, 78, of Southbury, formerly of Danbury, husband of Patricia “Patti” Finn, died on Monday evening, November 7, 2022, at his home.

Affectionately known as “Big Mike”, Mr. Finn was born in Brooklyn, NY, on November 3, 1944, a son of the late Michael and Mary (Cassidy) Finn. He attended New York schools.

Upon discharge from the U.S. Army, Mike began a career in Retail Merchandising. Initially as a buyer for the J.W. Mays Dept. Stores and later Ross Stores where he was a Vice-President of Merchandising.

A resident of Danbury from 1984 to 2021, Mike along with his sons “Finny” and Brian owned and operated a liquor store business in the Berkshire Shopping Center. An active community member, Mike served as a former Danbury constable and a member of the Republican Town Committee. For many years, Mike was the operations manager of the City of Danbury’s Homeless Shelter. On November 3, 2019, former Mayor Mark D. Boughton declared the day as Michael Finn Day for the City of Danbury.

In addition to his wife “Patti” of fifty-three years, Mike is survived by his children, Kelly Finn, Erin Damato and her husband John, Michael “Finny” Finn and his fiancee Meghan and Brian Finn and his wife Jules, a brother Patrick Finn, two sisters Sister Ellen Patricia O.P. and Ann Rall and her husband Marty, eight grandchildren, truly his pride and joy, Tara, Katie, Ethan, Brandon, Mic, Kendall, Riley and Olivia, three great-grandchildren Wyatt, Liam and Austin, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Jimmie.
