Michael Iskra, 82, husband of Beverly (Brown) Iskra, of Newington passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 2021, at the Hospital of Central Connecticut. Michael was the son of the late Michael and Josephine (Kuzcera) Iskra. He was raised in New Britain and graduated from New Britain High School in 1956 and furthered his education at the University of Hartford where he obtained his Masters Degree. He served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. Michael was a member of the Newington Volunteer Fire Department for 36 years with Company 4, as well as a member of the New Britain Elks 957 and the Polish American Club in Newington. Mike retired from the Connecticut Mutual Life Insurance Company and Mass Mutual Insurance Company. Mike loved spending time with his grandchildren, especially going to their baseball and football games. He enjoyed playing golf with the guys and cards with the veterans on Friday nights.Besides Beverly, his wife of 57 years, he is survived by his daughters Michelle Iskra, Sharon Kalisz and her husband Bryan, son David Iskra and his beloved grandchildren, Kyle and Justin Kalisz and Mason Iskra. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Walter and Ted and sisters Lola, Irene, Jenny and Betty.
