Michael Honts, August 20, 1941 – January 9, 2014.
Michael E. “Mike” Honts, 72, of Belton. Mr. Honts died Thursday, January 9, 2014, in a Temple Hospital. Mr. Honts was born August 20, 1941, in Muscatine, Iowa, the son of Everett Eugene Honts and Edetta Jay (Gerth) Honts. He married Rosanna Emrick August 12, 1972 in S. H. A. P. E, Belgium. He was retired from the U. S. Army after 24 years of service as a cartographer.
He was a member of the Leon Valley Golf Course where he served as treasure for several years. He was preceded in death by two brothers. Survivors include his wife Rosanna Honts of Belton; brothers David Dean Honts of Salado, Don Schmelzer of Muscatine, Iowa and Jerry Schmelzer of Cabot, Arkansas; sisters Carol Ann Miller and Linda Joy Fry both of Muscatine, Iowa.
