Our beloved Michael Hillary Meyerle, 73, succumbed to cancer after a long and valiant battle supported by his family and Denver Hospice. Mike’s parents, Helen Pilger Meyerle and Hillary Andrew Meyerle of Washington State, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Hamilton Meyerle of Franktown, and their three sons: Dr. Jon Hamilton Meyerle and his wife, Dr. Catherine Meyerle of Baltimore; Gerald Michael Meyerle and his wife Prachi of Arlington, Virginia; and James Edward Meyerle of San Francisco. Mike is also survived by his sister, Mary Kelly, of Snohomish, Washington, her husband Robert, and their two sons, Sean and Ryan.
Michael’s professional history included various corporate legal tax management positions with MCI Corporation in Washington, D.C., Marriot Corporation in Bethesda, Maryland, and Time-Warner Cable in Denver and Charlotte. He graduated from Washington State University in Economics and from the University of Colorado Law School. He was a CPA and belonged to various professional tax organizations. During the Vietnam War he served as Courts and Board Officer for the U.S. Army at Fort Lewis in Tacoma, Washington.
Mike attended Regis Jesuit High School in Denver. He supported Disabled American Veterans as his primary charity and headed up Project Cure, a medical philanthropic organization, for Parker Rotary. Additionally, he was a member of the Parker Breakfast Club, the Parker Area Historical Society and Green Valley Rotary. Mike was a bowl turner and member of the Parker Woodturning Group and the Green Valley, Arizona Woodturners Association. He was a member of the Great Books Discussion Groups in Castle Rock, Colorado and Green Valley, Arizona.
His surviving grandchildren are Sofia Meyerle of Arlington, Virginia, and Kelsey, Grace and Grant Meyerle of Baltimore.
