Michael Overleese, DMD
Overleese, Michael, “Doc”, 77 of Boca Raton, Florida, passed away at home on August 27, 2022.
Born January 26, 1945 to Nelson and Pauline Overleese in Elkhart, Indiana, he later attended Evangel College in Springfield, Missouri. He went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI). Michael practiced dentistry for 50 years in south Florida, in both Pompano Beach and Vero Beach. He was an excellent dentist, and many of his patients would comment on how he was painless.
Michael loved freshwater fishing and playing golf. He not only used his skilled hands to make dentures and crowns, he also designed and built furniture. He had a sharp and creative mind that worked tirelessly to find solutions to his many projects. He loved researching how to create the best recipes and cooking methods, such as frying tempura fried shrimp. He enjoyed traveling domestically as well as internationally. His favorite trip was to Scotland to see the courses at St. Andrews.
Michael will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Natalee Goehrig and Nichole Smylie; his son-in-law Scott Smylie; his grandsons, Gideon, Luke and Isaac; and his step-children, Tony Foley, Danielle Driscoll, and Jeff Foley; and grandson Matthew Foley. Michael was married to his first wife, Marilyn, for 27 years. He was predeceased by his second wife, Jacqueline Overleese, to whom he was married to for 18 years.
