Michael Fred Schweigert, 50, of Spring Valley, formerly of Peru, passed away, Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Spring Valley Nursing Home.
Michael was born September 12, 1962 in Peru to Melvin and Mary (Coughlin) Schweigert. He graduated from LaSalle-Peru High School and worked for Horizon House Industries and Hy-Vee Grocery Store. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, Peru. Michael Fred was named after his grandfathers, Michael Coughlin of Melrose, IA and Fred Schweigert of Peru. Michael was a Cubs fan and an Elvis impersonator. He competed in the Special Olympics.
He is survived by his mother, Mary; two brothers, James (Sharon Cheo) Schweigert of Singapore and Thomas Schweigert of Madison, WI and two nieces, Sasha Blume of Olympia, WA and Kaila Lange of Seattle, WA. He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Schweigert.
