Mr. Michael Francis Mahoney, 70, passed away Monday, June 8, 2015, at his home in Moreland. He was born May 23, 1945, in Buffalo, New York to the late Michael Howard Mahoney and Marion Mahoney.
Mike and his parents lived in Niagara Falls, New York. In 1967, after graduating with a degree in Agriculture from the University of Georgia, Mike returned to Pavilion, New York, and worked at Noblehurst farms. In 1968, Mike and his wife moved to Newnan where Mike worked as an Environmental Health Program Manager for the State of Georgia until 1995- when he retired. Mike was a member of Moreland United Methodist Church. For many years, Mike served on the Board of the Powers Crossroads Country Fair and Arts Festival. Mike’s hobbies were collecting classic cars and farming.
Survivors include wife of 47 years, Linda Hudman Mahoney; son, Todd Mahoney, and wife LaRisa; grandson, Jonathan Mahoney; cousins, Elaine & Skip Klapper; numerous cousins and extended family.
