Michael F. Grimes, 80, of Pendleton, passed away on December 3, 2020, at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born on June 25, 1940, in Anderson, the son of Bill and Sally Grimes.
Mike graduated from Anderson High School in 1959.
He started his newspaper career at a young age with the Anderson Herald-Bulletin and then became the Advertising Director for the Muncie Star Press.
In the early 90’s he became a realtor for F.C. Tucker in Anderson, which he enjoyed very much. Mike received multiple awards in both careers, which he was extremely proud of.
He was a born salesman who never met a stranger.
Mike is survived by his loving wife Jackie Grimes; children, Lisa (David) Huffman and Cory (April) Grimes; he was very blessed to have four loving grandchildren who he adored, Hannah, Jessica, and Luke Huffman and Cole Grimes. Also surviving is a sister, Maribeth (Robert) Newcomer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; nephew, Robert Newcomer; and many close friends.
