Michael Eugene Cope, age 69, passed away Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Upson Regional Medical Center in Thomaston. He was born October 6, 1951 in Franklin, NC to the late Eugene Adams Cope and Ruth Roper Cope. Along with his parents, Mike is preceded in death by his grandson, Noah Hudson who he had a remarkably close relationship. Mike is survived by his wife, Karen Brownell Cope; sons, Zachary Michael Cope and his soon to be wife Suzanne Hudson, Adam Keith Cope; grandchildren, Aiden Keith Cope, Landon Michael Cope and Saydi Grace Smallwood. He is also survived by siblings, Jim Cope and his wife Wendy, Linda Mullinix and her husband Charles, numerous nieces and one nephew. Mike served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged. He enjoyed coaching his two sons little league teams as well as coaching the other kids along the way.
