On May 14, 2024, Michael Edward Pond of Waverly, VA, won his battle with cancer. He is now free of all suffering. Michael spent his entire life in Waverly, VA. He was the son of the late JoAnn Babb Pond Frye and Lonnie Judson Pond Jr. He is preceded in death by his stepdaughter, Ashley Carroll Gray.Michael was a plumber for many years, helping his father and uncles in the family business. He worked for the Town of Waverly for several years before taking a job at Prince George Electric. He started in maintenance and eventually worked his way to Supervisor of the Meter Department for 46 years before retiring in October 2023. He loved his PGEC family.Michael enjoyed a simple way of life.
