Passed away Sunday, September 4, 2016, in Rose Arbor Hospice Residence, at the age of 81. Michael was born March 15, 1935 in Kalamazoo to the late James and Muriel (Powers) Wooden. Michael was united in marriage to Uta S. Behnert on November 14, 1959, in Berlin, Germany. Uta survives. Michael served in the U.S.
Air Force from December of 1956 until honorably discharged in January of 1960. Michael earned his Doctorate from Western Michigan University. He was a life-long Kalamazoo resident and dedicated his life to education for 46 years. Michael was a proud member of Portage-Schoolcraft FOE #3531. Dr. Wooden is survived by his wife of 57 years and the love of his life Uta Wooden, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. Preceding him in death were siblings, Milton, Sharon, James, Ray and Robert Wooden.
