Michael Dennis McCormick, 74 of Wolf Creek, passed away from respiratory failure on June 9, 2015.
Mike was born May 17, 1941 in Spokane, Washington to Loren and Mae McCormick. He was raised in the area and graduated from Gonzaga Prep in 1959. Mike then moved to Montana to attend Montana State University in Bozeman, where he fell in love with the Big Sky, enjoying fishing, boating, and golfing. Mike, ever the entertainer, loved to host parties at his home.
Mike had enlisted in the Army National Guard and was honorably released after six years of service. He spent the majority of his career in sales, working for Sears Roofing, Napa parts stores and was the owner of Plentywood Motor Sales. In 1969 he was married to Kathryn Friedrich of Antelope, MT, but the couple divorced after 15 years. Although Mike never remarried, he found joy in his relationship with his significant other, Judy Totaro.
Mike is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Kelly and Jody McCormick of Bozeman, and their children Kaitlyn, Andrew and Clay. Survivors also include Mike’s girlfriend, Judy Totaro of Phoenix AZ; his sister, LornaMae McCormick of Seattle WA; brother, Tim McCormick of Renton WA; nephew, John McCormick of Craig MT and numerous other nieces and nephews; as well as his dog, Mac.
