Michael Dean “Mr. Big Fry” Harrell, age 57, died Tuesday at UNC Rex Hospital. Born in Wayne County, he was the son of the late Ernest Asa Harrell and Ruth Ferrell Harrell and brother of the late Bill Harrell and Lois Kennedy. Mike was the owner and operator of Harrell’s Machine Shop & Racing Engines. He was an avid race fan and built many championship winning engines.
