Michael Carmine Perrone was 80 years old when he passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2023. Born in Hackensack, Mike was a lifelong resident of New Milford. After graduating Bergen Technical and Vocational High School, Mike proudly enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. After his honorable discharge from the Marine Corps Mike went on to work at his family’s farm, Perrone’s Farm, New Milford, which was established in 1922. He loved farming, working from sun up to sun down. In the early hours of the morning he would deliver his crops to the Bronx Terminal Growers Market, which he was a founding member of. Mike worked 7 days a week, always with a warm smile on his face. Mike was an active member of his community as a lifetime member of the New Milford-Teaneck Elks Lodge #2290 and the Gooney Bird Detachment of the United States Marine Corps. He was also a member of the New Milford Historic Comission. In 2018 he was nominated as the boro Historian. Mike was the 2012 Grand Marshal of the New Milford Memorial Day Parade. In later years he worked at Van Saun County Park as a carousel operator.
Mike is survived by his beloved wife Patricia (nee Coon), his loving children Michael Perrone and wife Sherry, Steven Perrone and his wife Dawn, and Christine Rosner. He is the cherished brother of Anthony Perrone and Roseanne Perrone. Mike was predeceased by his late brother Joseph Perrone. He is the devoted grandfather of Jessica, Jennie, Melissa , Eric, Alyson, Emma and his grandpup Rylee.
