Michael Alexander Berky,, Jr, D.D.S., age 78, of Milford beloved husband of Patricia Chubb Berky past away peacefully on Friday September 5, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family after a brief illness. Born in Bridgeport on February 20, 1936 he was the son of the late Michael Sr, and Catherine Takasch Berky. He was a graduate of Milford High School, Class of 1953, and the University of Connecticut, Class of 1957. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Temple University in 1961. He was a Captain in the U. S. Army from 1964 to 1966 being station at Fort Polk, LA.
He enjoyed tennis, chess and the playing the violin, as well as traveling with his wife. He also loved UConn basketball.
He met his beloved wife Patricia Chubb in Philadelphia while they were both attending Temple University and they were married on May 28, 1958. In addition to his beloved wife of 55 years, survivors include two daughters Karin Kemper and her husband Timothy Kemper,of Alpharetta, GA, Michelle Berky of Milford, and a son M. Kurt Berky, DDS, and his wife Brenda Berky of Madison, five grandchildren Brittany, Molly, and Ned Berky, and Jimmy and Julia Kemper. A sister Catherine “Sissy” Tickey, of Stratford and a sister-in-law Lynn Berky of Trumbull as well as many nieces. He was predeceased by his brother Jack Berky of Trumbull.
