A Brief Sketch of Life
Michael Allen Harney Sr. was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on March 21, 1956, to the late J.C. and Lois Harney. He was the third of five children. Michael graduated from Shortridge High School in Indianapolis in 1975. Following his high school graduation, Michael enlisted in the United States Navy and served from July 1975 – August 1978. Following his honorable discharge, Michael obtained his barber license.
Michael departed this life on Tuesday, September 3, 2019, at the age of 63. He was preceded in death by his father, J. C. Harney and his only sister, Cheryl “Neicy” Harney Bibbs.
Michael is survived by his wife, Tina; mother, Lois Harney; sons, Kendall, Michael, Tajuan, and K’Rohn; brothers, James II (Jacqueline), Dexter (Greta), and Bryant; nephews, James III, Antuan, Damon (Lakeysha), Lathon, Cameron, Michael (Jona), Manual. Brandon, Devin (Whitney), and Bryant Jr.; nieces, Crystal (Michael) and Brianna; Aunt and Uncle, Mary and Frank Stapleton; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
