December 21, 1960 – July 28, 2016
Michael Alan Morris, at the age of 55, left this world to be with the Lord on July 28, 2016. He passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by the love and comfort of his family.Michael was born in San Antonio, TX, to Leo A. Morris (deceased), and Gladys Faye Morris on December 21, 1960, where he lived until 1983 when he moved to Boerne to live on the beautiful Guadalupe River and start a family. He graduated from Holmes High School in 1978 where he played trumpet in the Huskies’ Marching and Stage Bands. He also developed a love for singing, playing the guitar and blue grass music. He was fortunate to have played briefly with the Tennessee Valley Authority in their early days and cherished the festivals they attended in his late teens. After high school, Michael started a lifelong career in the auto body paint and repair industry with his family’s business, Morris Body Shop in San Antonio, TX Ultimately, in 2003, with the help and inspiration of his greatest friend and partner, the late Sean Largey of Walnut Grove, he was able to start a business here in Boerne restoring classic cars, trucks and hot rods. Once described as being “flamboyant” and having a certain “aura” (not to be mistaken with aroma) those who knew him would agree he was unique. He loved his children, most animals, tubing behind fast boats at Medina Lake, fast cars and a mean game of dominoes. He is survived by his mother, Gladys Faye Morris; his daughters, Jamie Morris, Shannon Hernandez, son-in-law Abel and granddaughter, Kyler Taylor Morris; former wife and mother of his children, Sheri Sicklesteel; his brother, Scott Morris and sister-in-law, Linda; nephew Jeffrey; brother, Kyle Morris and sister-in-law Melissa; nephews, Wesley and Cody.
