Michael A Abney, 71, of Anderson, passed away September 16, 2017 at St. Vincent’s Anderson Regional Hospital.

He was born on April 19, 1946 in Anderson, Indiana. Michael graduated from Markleville High School, Class of 1964. He was a U.S. Navy veteran who served during the Vietnam War. He formerly worked for Delco Remy and Blue Grass Farms in Anderson. He was a life member of the Fall Creek Conservation Club and the Redman’s Lodge. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and an avid Notre Dame and Chicago Cubs fan.

Michael is survived by his loving wife and honey whom he married May 11, 1968, Deborah (Snideman) Abney of Anderson; son, Michael R. (Linda) Abney of Pendleton; daughter, Marka L. (Dan) Pederson of Pendleton; granddaughter, Allison Richards of Knoxville, TN; 2 grandsons, Garrett Pederson, and Harper Pederson both of Pendleton; 2 sisters, Vici Schlabach of Shelbyville, and Shelley (Dan) Calvert of Fortville; good friend, Jerry (Pam) Rector; special cousin, Ted (Lexie) Heath; 2 Brother-in -laws, Ross Fadely of Warrington, and Tom Cole of Markleville cousin, Tom (Elaine) Heath, who supplied his mushrooms; aunt, Allamae Abney Cram of Anderson; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by mother, Joan Abney; father, George F. Abney; sister, Holly Fadely; sister-in-law, Penny Cole.
