She moved to Washington, DC and worked for Eastern Airlines for 23 years from 1967-1980 (in many capacities) traveled all over the world for 20 of those years. She was glad she got a chance to meet all kinds of people in her travels and it was wonderful.  Meteryne was involved  in her community by assisting and giving out food and clothes with Bread Of The City where she accumulated many dear friends.  Meteryne worked and retired from WMWA/UNITED MINERS WORKERS ASSOCIATION Health and Pension in April, 2014.

Leaving to cherish her memories are her four nieces Michelle Benson, Gilda Salmon, Kristie Edwards, and Lori Dinkins. Also her nephew Luke Dinkins. Brother-In-Law Gilbert Benson and Sister-In-Law Sandy Flanagan. She also leaves behind a host of her loving friends who were also her family.

Meteryne enjoyed volunteering in her community and she enjoyed loving  life!
