Muncie – Mervyn B. Barnard, 72, passed to his heavenly home on July 3, 2011, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Mervyn was born in Muncie on September 5, 1938, the second child of Glenn and Loretta (Hoppes) Barnard.
After graduating from Cowan High School in 1956, he served in the United States Marine Corp for two years at Okinawa, Japan.
Mervyn was well known in the area as a home builder. He owned and operated Barnard Construction for over 35 years. He built around 78 homes in the area.
Mr. Barnard’s remarkable work ethic was admired by all.
