Mervin Leon Smith (Smitty) was born on January 3, 1952 to Rufus Smith and Nancy Dawson in Easton, MD.  He was 63 years old.  He departed this life on November 13, 2015 at the Hospice House in Denton, MD.  

Mervin lived in Ridgely, Md his entire life and attended Lockerman High School.  Before his illness he worked at the Ruxton Nursing Home in Denton, MD.  His family and friends will always remember him for riding around the town of Ridgely in his old cars with his clean hub caps and hanging with his good old home-boys.  He also loved watching his favorite football team, the New England Patriots, especially when they played the Baltimore Ravens.

Mervin was a very quiet man who just loved sitting outside enjoying nature or watching the guys pitch horseshoes.

Mervin was preceded in death by his parents; father Rufus Smith and mother Nancy M. Dawson, two brothers; Linwood Dawson and James Smith and one sister; Ida M. Hoxter.

Mervin leaves to cherish his memory his son, Mervin Hall (Debbie) of Henderson, MD, daughter, Tiona Smith of Baltimore, MD, two brothers; Melvin Smith of Baltimore, MD, Franklin Smith of Seaford, DE, a sister Marie Smith of Easton, MD, a special friend; Geraldine Skully of Cambridge, MD. Also to name a few of his closes friends; Flech, Scottie, Corkey, George. He also leaves six grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, one aunt; Dorothy Johnson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
