Merrill M. Taylor, 91 of Freeport died Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at FHN Memorial Hospital Freeport.
Born February 11, 1922 in Spring Grove, WI he was the son of Walter and Lillian (Klaas) Taylor. He was a WWII Navy veteran serving on the USS Lexington and later volunteered as a tour guide for the Vessel in Corpus Christi, TX. He married Ethelyn Lemmerhirt in 1946 and she preceded him in death in 1998.
He was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Freeport. Surviving are two daughters Cynthia A. (Donald) Craig of Clyde, TX and Sally (Jay) Eisenberg of Corpus Christi, TX; son Timothy (Judy) Taylor of Eagle Point, OR; two granddaughters Stephanie (Jason) Lewis, Melissa (Johnny) Blackwell; two great granddaughters; one great grandson; a twin sister Myrlah Wiley of Davis and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, wife, four sisters and two brothers.
