Merrill “June Bug” Hammond Jr., 57, of Federalsburg, MD departed this life on March 24, 2016 at the Hospice Center in Centerville, MD. He was born in Seaford, DE on June 9, 1958 to the late Merrill Hammond Sr. and Ida Mae Jackson-Hammond.
Merrill attended school in Caroline County. He worked various jobs throughout Maryland and Delaware. He loved fishing, watching wrestling, and sports. He also loved to eat.
Merrill is survived by two daughters; TaShawna Bolden of Ellenwood, GA and Tamyra Hubbard of Blades, DE, three step-sons; Mckinley Potter of Cambridge, MD, Bryan Potter Sr. of Federalsburg, MD, and Donya Bolden of Federalsburg, MD and one grandson; Khalil Bolden of Blades, DE, two sisters; Debbie Mapp (Wayne) of Bridgeville, DE, and Blanche Hammond (Thomas) of Federalsburg, MD, three brothers; Tony Hammond (Sonya) of Magnolia, DE, Elvis Hammond (Michelle) of Unionville, MD, and Shawn Hammond Sr. (Lakesha) of Federalsburg, MD; three aunts, three uncles, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. He also leaves a close companion, Alice Thomas and a special friend, Roberta Lake.
Merrill was preceded in death by his parents, Ida Mae Jackson-Hammond and Merrill Hammond Sr.
