Merlyn Andersen was born in Hebron, NE and grew up near Ruskin, NE. He was baptized at Salem Lutheran Parsonage and confirmed at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran in Ruskin.
Merlyn started his education in a one room school house, District #2, for his first couple years of school. He graduated from Ruskin High School in 1958. He was valedictorian of his class. Merlyn lettered in both 6 man football and basketball in all 4 years of high school.
He married Bonita Presnell from Deshler on September 10, 1961. This union was blessed with the birth of 2 daughters, Cosette(Cozy) and Corrinne(Rinny) and a son, Kristin(Butch).
He went to work for AT&T and retired after 18 years in Kansas City, MO so he could be closer to his children and grandchildren.
