Merilee Ann Brooks, 87, of Galesburg, died at 3:13 p.m. on August 29, 2017, in the Care Center of Abingdon. Merilee was born September 18, 1929, in Canton, the daughter of Bernard James and Veletta G. (Lindsey) Beasley.
She married Carl Dallas Brooks on October 9, 1948. He preceded her in death on June 26, 1992.
Merilee is survived by one sister, Beverly Williams of Galesburg, and several nieces and nephews. She worked in the office at Caterpillar in Peoria for many years. In her free time, Merilee enjoys golfing and traveling. She loved her visits to Bermuda and Hawaii. She also enjoyed walking and reading.
