Melvin was born on August 29, 1939 in Hartselle, Alabama to the late Carl Robinson and Mattie Glass Robinson. God quietly called Melvin into eternal rest on Friday, July 26, 2013. He confessed hope in Christ at an early age. Melvin received his formal education at Lakeside High School in Decatur, Alabama. Melvin was also a devoted member of the Decatur Rough Riders.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Mattie Robinson, two brothers Henry and Robert Glass, one daughter Yolanda K. Robinson and one son Kenneth D. Robinson.
His memory will be cherished by his loving and devoted wife Odessa Glass of Decatur. Two daughters, Kelsey Glass of Houston, TX and Cassandra Glass of Virginia; two sons, Larry and Craig Robinson of Houston, TX; 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, one brother James Glass of Portland, OR, one special cousin Lucy Dancy of Decatur, and a host of relatives and friends.
