Melvin Ladowitz, 79, of Mercersburg, PA, passed away on Monday, May 10, 2021, at St. Paul’s Home in Belleville, IL. Melvin was born September 13, 1941, in Brooklyn, NY, and spent most of his life in Mercersburg, PA with his wife Shirley of nearly 48 years.
He was a loving brother, husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with family, hunting, fishing, traveling, and his New York Yankees.
Melvin was preceded in death by his parents; Irving and Rosie Ladowitz (nee Becker). Surviving is his beloved wife; Shirley Ladowitz (nee Angle) of Mercersburg, PA, four children; Michael (Heidi) Ladowitz of Collegeville, PA, Jane (Dom) Basso of Lakewood, NJ, Daniel (Lissa) Ladowitz of Mt. Pleasant, PA, and Matthew (Staci) Ladowitz of O’Fallon, IL, one brother; Paul Ladowitz of Queens, NY, eight grandchildren; Danielle Appice, Frank Appice, Joshua Ladowitz, Dominique Basso, Paige Ladowitz, Kayla Ladowitz, Ryleigh Ladowitz, and Jaxon Ladowitz, and one great-grandchild; Autumn LoBue.
