Melvin L. Bachman, 99, of Metamora, IL passed away at 6:45 pm on Friday, September 2, 2016 at Snyder Village in Metamora. He was born on May 14, 1917 in Cazenovia, IL to Jacob and Louisa Bachman. He married Eulah Lasater on September 8, 1940 in Cazenvoia, IL and they were married for 64 years before her passing on September 25, 2004.
Surviving are his daughter-in-law Kathy (Strieder) Bachman of Metamora; two grandchildren, Shane (Jaclyn) Bachman of Chandler, AZ and Ronalee (Joshua) Tedesco of Arlington, TX; and four great-grandchildren, Aidan and Caleb Bachman and Isabella and Biaggio Tedesco. He was preceded in death by two sons, Rodney and Roger Bachman, and two brothers.
Melvin served in the Army Air Corp from June, 1942 to September, 1945 receiving the Air Medal during active duty in World War II.
