Melvin H. DeVries, age 94, of South Holland, IL, passed away Monday, July 1, 2019.
Beloved husband of the late Bette W. DeVries, nee Bruin and the late Marcia DeVries, nee Schoeneman. Loving father of John (Ramelle) DeVries, Ann (Mark) Tubbs and Alan (Joy) DeVries; step-father of the late Michael (Ann Marie) Boer, the late Suellyn (Patrick) Onofrio, and Scott (Misti) Boer. Cherished grandfather of Loraina Wang, Kevin Tubbs, Marcus Tubbs, Rochelle DeVries, Amy Bonneau, Brad Bonneau, Caitlin Boer, and Mike Boer. Great-grandfather of Ryane, Carson, Ashlyn, and Noah.
Rev. DeVries was a Pastor in the Reformed Church of America serving eight various congregations over his many years of ministry. One of his favorite sayings was “Remember, God loves you and so do I.” Pastor Mel was loved by many and will be greatly missed
