Melvin Eugene Williams, Sr., 80, of Reynoldsville passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at his residence with his family by his side.
He was born July 26, 1936 in Reynoldsville, WV; son of the late Virgil and Mary Reed Williams.
Melvin is survived by his wife, of 48 years, Susie May Lyons Williams; three sons, Melvin E. and Cathy Williams, II of Reynoldsville, Jonathan David and Trish Williams, Matthew and Ashley Williams all of Salem; three daughters, Melanie and Luke Herrod of Jarvisville, Cindy Williams of Reynoldsville, Tracy Williams and Michelle Helmick of Clarksburg; fourteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one sister, Louanna Grant of Bristol. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Harold Reed; one sister, Delma Dodd.
Melvin was a Veteran of the US Air Force and served during the Korean conflict. He retired in 1998 from Harrison County School Board. He enjoyed being outdoors and dearly loved his grandkids.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to, his Home Health Nurse, Gloria Turner.
Per Melvin’s request, his body will be cremated.
