Melvin Dewitt Morris died May 21, 2014, at the age of 82. He was a native and life long resident of Washington County.  Melvin was married to his wife, Yvonne, for over 35 years.  He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of Yarbo Assembly of God. Melvin had a passion for farming.  When he was able, he would plow the garden with his mule knowing he had a perfectly good tractor to use.  .Melvin worked as a delivery truck driver for Barber’s and Dairy Fresh.  In his latter years he worked at Marshall Durbin.  Melvin was a tender hearted man in all aspects and his daily goal was spending time talking with his children.  He loved Blue Grass Gospel Music and his favorite place to eat was Jordan’s Fish Camp.  Melvin shared the last years of his life with his dear friend, Glendine Goldman.
