Melva Harris
May 13, 1941 – December 5, 2022

Melva was born May 13, 1941 in San Diego, CA to Melvin and Winifred Wesbrook. She was Melvin and Winifred’s only child and was deeply loved. She passed away December 5, 2022 holding the hand of her best friend and husband, Frank, with her children close by at her home in Boise.
Melva’s parents moved her back to Kansas when she was 2 years old, where she remained for many years. She met the love of her life while attending Moline High School, Frank Harris. They married in 1958 and were together for 64 years. Some say she fell for Frank because he lived in town and had an indoor plumbing, but when you saw them together you figured the plumbing must have just been a plus when she fell in love with Frank.
Melva had a career in the insurance industry. She began working as an underwriter in various insurance companies. She moved from the corporate world to a private agent’s office where she eventually moved to being a commercial agent. In the late 90’s, Melva also spent her spare time helping Frank in his retail tropical fish store, Enchanted Aquariums.

Melva is survived by her husband and best friend Frank Harris, son Kevin (Stephanie) Harris, daughter Laurie (Mike Nunan), and son Frank Jr (Gina) Harris. Five grandchildren: Wayne, Kyrie Otool, Matteo, Drew, and Amber. Six great-grandchildren: Parker, Logan, Ryker, Hazel, Felix, and Daxton. Melva is preceded in death by her father, mother, and foster son Les.
The Family wants to thank the Meridian St Luke’s 6th floor team and the St Luke’s Hospice team, in particular Asia, Molly, and Gudrun, for the great care that they gave to Melva.
